What Is AI Slop?

AI slop is content that looks finished but isn’t finished thinking.

  1. What new insight does this add?

  2. Could this have been written by anyone?

  3. Have I verified all factual claims?

  4. Does this reflect real experience or expertise?

  5. Would I stand behind this without AI?

If the answer is “no” to most of these, you are likely producing AI slop.

The Future: Less Content, More Judgment

The internet does not need more content. It needs better filters, stronger norms, and clearer accountability.

AI will continue to improve. That is inevitable.

What matters is whether humans choose to use it as:

  • A multiplier of insight, or

  • A factory for noise

AI slop is not a failure of technology.

It is a failure of how we choose to deploy it.
